Preliminary Championship
A dancer competes as a Preliminary Champion after they had earned four 1st place medals
in each of their dances in Prizewinner the previous year.
Preliminary Champion dancers automatically qualify to compete solos in the Oireachtas.
In order to compete at Nationals they must qualify at Oireachtas.
In order to compete at Worlds they must qualify at Oireachtas or Nationals.
If a dancer competes at Worlds and achieves a World Medal,
they automatically qualify to compete at Worlds the following year.
A dancer moves up into Open Championship when they achieve three 1st place medals
in Preliminary Champion in one calendar year.
